Meet Fred
He’s not the newest Brand Specialist at North Star. And no I didn’t get another dog…
Actually I just met him today. I went to Sheetz for my morning Diet Coke and to my shock and horror I found the fountain DC was out-of-order (err!!) so I went back to get a bottle and there was Fred.
Beautiful bottled water Fred…
I laughed out loud. That’s the funniest, most creative name for water I could ever imagine. It’s too much! And there was a small sign under the display that said “Take him out” - which resulted in more laughing… and then of course, I had to take him out. The back of bottle says “Born beneath the Catskill Mountains…” and the company phone number is 1-877-He’s-Water. So they are definitely using the name and the appropriate pronouns to their full potential. Best of all the packaging design is so clean and simple. I love it.
Way to go Fred - your creativity and design had me at first sight!

Lol - Like water! That’s the interesting part - I didn’t really buy it for the water. If it were named anything else and came in a normal package, I would have completely overlooked it. Because if you want to get into the water business you have to be creative and stand out. Fred stood out. Since water can only vary in taste to a small degree (hopefully!)
But on the flip side, if Fred didn’t taste good, then I’d have to say no next time…
